JUNIOR SURF(Nippers)

Haere mai, Welcome

I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all the new families joining Maranui and to our returning club members.

As we gear up for an exciting summer of surf activities, I'm filled with anticipation to witness our membership numbers holding steady.

This achievement can be attributed to the remarkable efforts of our Board, dedicated volunteers, and supportive families.

The primary objective of our junior surf program is to nurture the lifeguards of the future.

Whether they are just starting or progressing through various stages, our goal is to make the experience enjoyable, engaging, and educational for all participating children. None of this would be possible without the invaluable support of our families and volunteers, and for that, we extend our heartfelt gratitude.

Thank you for embarking on this enjoyable journey with us.

Our first Nippers session is scheduled for Sunday, November 5th, 2023. Once our young participants are signed in and engaged with our coaches for a warm-up, we invite all parents, both new and returning, to join us in the club lounge for a welcoming get-together.

Our development sessions for our U11-U14 participants will get underway later on the in year.

These sessions are open to any athletes looking to enhance their water skills and to those interested in participating in Oceans in 2023.

f you're interested, please drop me an email. Keep an eye out for more development opportunities for both kids and parents throughout the season.

Like any community sports club, we are always on the lookout for enthusiastic parents to join us in various roles, such as coaching, officiating, coordinating age groups during carnivals, or assisting with ongoing tasks during sessions and on a weekly basis. These tasks range from club cleanup at the end of sessions to equipment maintenance, helping coaches, and even clearing sand from the boats. The list is extensive, and we encourage you to get involved. If you're ever unsure, don't hesitate to ask one of us for guidance. Your support makes a significant difference.
