Requirements

You need to be at least 14 years old at time of examination.

You must be a hold a current / refreshed Surf Lifeguard Award.

You must be a paid up member of Surf Lifesaving New Zealand (through a Surf Lifesaving Club like Maranui SLSC)

Requirements

You need to be at least 16 years old at time of examination.

You must be a hold a current / refreshed Surf Lifeguard Award (for more than 6 months).

You must be a paid up member of Surf Lifesaving New Zealand (through a Surf Lifesaving Club like Maranui SLSC).

You must be a hold an IRB Crew persons award (can be gained at the same time as an IRB Drivers award).

You need to hold a VHF operators certificate (must be gained prior to the Beach Exam). This can be be obtained with coastguard online course.
