Have a qualified Maranui lifeguard come to your school, kindergarten or creche to talk about 'What to do when you go to the beach'.

'What to do when you go to the beach'

A 10-15min interactive talk about your local beach (Lyall Bay beach and Oriental Bay beach).

This is a beach smart programme looking at what kids should do when they go to the beach. What to look for that is down at the beach to help them to be safe; and how they can keep themselves and others safe too.

Using Equipment from Maranui Surf Lifeguarding service and props, kids get to understand the importance of the service that Maranui provides for its community.

The talk will cover:

  • How to behave in the sun (sunsmart)
  • The importance of not going to the beach by yourself
  • Where the best place is to swim and play in the water at Lyall Bay and Oriental Bay beaches
  • How to get help when they are in trouble in the water
  • What to look for if someone else is trouble in the water
  • Where to go to get help

There are two levels of talks aimed at children from Year 0 to Year 1 and  Year 2 to Year 4. These talks are also suitable for kids in Kindergartens and Creches.

Unfortunately bookings will only be accepted for schools, kindergartens and creches in our local area.

If your school, kindergarten or creche would like to have a Maranui Lifeguard come and talk to you about 'What to do when go to the beach'
